We know there are plenty of apps and video games these days that people really enjoy playing. There is still something special, though, about the card games of old.
Cribbage is one of those games that many of us learned from a Grandparent and played well into adulthood. It was fun and challenging but also was great for teaching us our math skills. We used to crow with delight when we (rarely) managed to skunk Grandpa.
But, really, a simple deck of cards was all it took to keep people entertained for an evening. Did you play War, Rummy, Hearts, Go Fish, or Double Solitaire? They were fun to play but also helped kids to learn patience, strategy, and taking turns.
It’s probably harder to find time to teach the kids how to play these games when you are home because life can be so busy. But the campground is perfect for it. There are plenty of opportunities to just sit together and share a game. The kids will love it and so will you. They love to learn and will really love the chance to beat you at your own game. You remember that feeling, right? It’s the best.
